Soft and Supple
Look for a jacket that’s soft and supple, like those made from lambskin. However, they’re still durable enough to protect you from the elements when you’re enjoying the open air and blue skies on the back of a Harley. Long sleeves protect your arms from the wind, but the leather will always feel soft and comfortable against your skin.
Pocket Considerations
You don’t want to carry a purse on the bike, so it’s important to have pockets. It can be uncomfortable to carry a phone or wallet in the pocket of your jeans, and you might lose them if you tried. The perfect solution is a motorcycle jacket with secure pockets. Look for pockets with snap closure that will give you a secure spot for your license and phone. Located on the sides or chest of the jacket, they’ll allow you to enjoy the ride without worrying about anything falling out.
The back of a bike can get a little chilly even when the weather is warm. That’s why it’s important to invest in jackets with different weights. While you want a heavier jacket for those cool evening rides, you also need a lightweight option for afternoon rides under blue skies. The lightweight jackets have thinner linings, but they’ll still protect your arms from debris in the air and help cut the wind at high speeds.

I don't ride motorcycle, but I do think that a thick jacket is needed to avoid rash when riding a motorcycle. :)
